Mingus Mountain Academy, has immediate openings for Youth Counselors. Mingus Mountain Academy is a residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally at-risk adolescent girls that helps them achieve a positive, healthy future. Founded in 1985, the Academy is located on a 120-acre campus surrounded by National Forest, 25 minutes from the town of Prescott Valley, Arizona. Our program combines a positive culture, caring staff, careful medical treatment, individualized psychotherapy and education, and numerous activities, including our unique equestrian program.

The Job

The Group Living Director will supervise the provision of all direct services and ensure the maintenance of a positive peer culture via the use of creative interventions. The Group Living Director is responsible for providing professional supervision, scheduling, evaluation of performance and scheduling training for all group living staff.

Snapshot of Daily Duties
• Supervises, evaluates, trains, and supports the Team Leaders, Case Managers, and Dietary department.
• Is responsible for the deliverance of services within the group living department.
• Provides oversight and coordination of the therapeutic program and recreation services.
• Is responsible for ensuring that appropriate systems and processes are in place to maintain an organized, structured, therapeutic program.
• Provides new hire orientation and in-house training to staff on program management and safety.
• Supervises and coordinate appropriate behavior management programming.
The Must Haves
• High school diploma or GED with higher education or vocational training preferred
• At least one year of experience
• Must have experience in training and public speaking. Valid driver’s license, and able to acquire a fingerprint card
