We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to fill our Lead Direct Support Professional position in our Westbrook home. This individual will work closely with the Program Manager to assure that the program runs successfully and our clients receive the quality care that they deserve.

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment where our adult members are treated with dignity and respect. The LDSP is responsible for enhancing the quality of life for our adult members and promoting a positive work environment for DSP through the collaborative efforts of other DSPs and the Program Manager. With the support of the team the LDSP is responsible for maintaining a successful program and healthy milieu for staff and our adult members.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Provide components of In-House Orientation and on the job training of new DSP’s.
  2. Provide assistance with daily, weekly and monthly routines of all operations (including MARS, documentation, fire drills, etc.)
  3. Review PANDA documentation to ensure daily notes are being completed, notify supervisor of gaps. Verify PANDA notes match to payroll hours.
  4. Effectively manage several methods of intra-program communications (e.g, log books, client binders, etc.).
  5. Assist with the overseeing of ordering (using checklist at all locations), inventory control, and the safe dispensation of medications.
  6. Review pass down checklists to ensure they are completed, to include audits of the money, EBT cards and gift cards kept at the home on each day worked.
  7. Conduct safety inspections monthly.
  8. Review daily documentation and follow up when needed.
  9. Mentor all new DSPs to ensure the SCM’s philosophy is adhered to and people are being supported to live as independently as possible.
  10. Support, assist, and encourage members in all areas of daily living including, but not limited to: personal care, feeding, socialization, recreation and leisure activities.
  11. Ensure medication distribution following successful completion of Medication Course (CRMA).
  12. Support client during periods of crisis by consulting with Program Manager and DRS when needed, referring to crisis intervention services and/or 911 when necessary, and completing agency incident report as indicated.
  13. Transport members in approved vehicles as activities require.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Two 2 years of experience working with adults in a supervised setting or relevant file experience.
Certification: Staff must have  DSP Certification and  Certified Residential Medication Aide Certificate( CRMA)
Requirements:
Staff must complete CPR and First Aid certification within one year of date of hire.
Must havehave strong Communication and computer skills.
Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
