Program Overview:
Sequel Youth and Family Services, a multi-location behavioral health organization, has an immediate opening for an experienced and highly adaptable Purchasing Manager in Huntsville, AL.

Overview:
The Purchasing Manager will manage Sequel’s vendor procurement and management. Lead negotiations with vendors and suppliers. Manages overall relationships assuring procurement integrity, performance and efficiency, and delegation oversight. Ensures compliance with all internal and external policies and regulatory entities.
• Negotiate Prices, contract specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential vendors.
• Monitor contractor performance, recommending contract modifications when necessary.
• Arrange for return of leased equipment to vendors, upon contract expiration.
• Serves as liaison with vendors (e.g. telephone service, cell service, fuel, office supplies, etc.) for the purpose of monitoring and consolidation of orders for better management of expenses.
• Maintain a database of Vendor Contracts, terms, expiration dates, history, and performance.
• Evaluate Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contract offerings for the purpose of potential participation.
• Assist operations personnel in opening new, expanded or remodeled facilities or schools for the purpose of ensuring that furnishings, equipment, supplies, etc. are in place in accordance with construction timelines and within budget.
• Develop and maintain Sequel’s purchasing policies and procedures, coordinating with facilities and other Sequel departments.
Skills and Abilities


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience. Purchasing experience in a healthcare environment preferred, but not required. Must have experience negotiating vendor contracts and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs).
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other accounting software programs.
Other Requirements: Must be detailed, possess well-developed organizational skills and have the ability to carry out duties with limited supervision.
