The Program Manager is responsible for providing professional supervision, scheduling, evaluation of performance and schedule training for all Direct Care and Shift Supervisors. This position is also responsible for directing the sound implementation and coordination of a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of Direct Staff & Shift Supervisors during the appointed shift and on the appointed unit to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures while correcting errors or problems.
  • Provide employees with guidance and support in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
  • Resolve student or family concerns and answers questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staff ensuring that all policies and procedures are being carried out in a professional manner.
  • Orients and trains employees on treatment programs, unit systems, job duties and expectations, and company policies or arranges for training to be provided.
  • Review records and reports pertaining to activities such as charting, progress notes, and timekeeping to verify details, monitor work activities, and evaluate performance.
  • Evaluate and discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems. Creates and maintains employee performance documentation.
  • Initiates corrective actions and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Evaluate employee's job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action.
  • Research, compile, and prepare reports, correspondence, and other information required by management or state and governmental agencies.
  • Coordinate activities with other supervisory personnel and with other work units or departments.
  •  Make recommendations to management concerning such issues as staffing decisions and procedural changes.
  • Prepare and issue work schedules, deadlines, and duty assignments for Direct Care Staff.
  • Develop work schedules according to budgets and workloads. Coordinates with other Shift Supervisors to manage all aspects of staff work schedules including PTO requests, overtime reports, and call-in coverage.
  • Provides safety and assists in crisis management for student population.
  • Monitors care and treatment to ensure consistent implementation.
  • Manages the daily program on the unit by ensuring staff and students have the necessary materials and supports.
  • Participates in treatment planning.
  • Organizes meetings and other communication systems to effectively communicate information to unit team members and Direct Care Staff on the appointed unit.
  • Ensures that all necessary documentation in completed each shift.
  • Manage facility keys and 2-way radio check-in/check-out systems.
  • Recruit, interview, and select employees.
  • Purchases needed supplies and manage supply inventory to ensure that student activity schedules are followed.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Humans Services or related field preferred or combination of education and experience.
Experience: 2 
years of experience in residential setting
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
Certifications & Licenses: CPR and First Aid certification. Valid drivers license.
Other requirements: 2 years Supervisory experience preferred.
