Education Transition
  • Communicate with home district students estimated return date.
  • Setup meeting one month prior to discharge with district to establish classes, discuss credits and meet staff.
  • Represent Woodward Academy at district meeting and extend and establish a communication rapport.
  • Assist students in transition phase from high school to post-secondary as needed.
  • Assist in setting up meetings or visits with a school representative, advisor, guardian or recruiter.  In the event the student is accepted into college, this position will assist in the student signing up for their ACT’s or college placement testing, scheduling classes, the student’s FASFA and proper documents for financial aid and college tours, offer insight into the military, Job Corps, or an apprenticeship through informational classes or one on one meetings.
Student Intake and Discharge
  • Obtain a list of possible discharges from each floor for the month.
  • Verify on a weekly basis any upcoming discharges with each floor.
  • Review admission board to determine when students will be arriving and leaving.
  • Assist Registrar with requesting transcripts, IEP’s, graduation requirements, immunization records, and all other pertinent information from all educational institutions attended by the student.
  • Follow up with all educational institutions not providing timely student information.
  • Transport of students to and from educational institutions if applicable.
Student Transcripts
  • Update student transcripts with new grades.
  • After receipt of discharging student’s final grades, confirm that final transcript is submitted, IEP, and immunization records to home school district, student file, and transcript folder.
Assist students in planning, monitoring, and managing their education, personal/social and career development goals.
  • Setting and assessing educational goals.
  • Transition planning.
  • Financial needs and resources available.
  • Educational options.
Abide by The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (42 USC & 201 et seq.)
Other duties as assigned.


  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Other Skills: Must maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment.
