We are seeking patient and dedicated BHPs with strong communication skills to partner with our Board-Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBAs) to work with clients with developmental disabilities, aged 3-21, in our Specialized Rehabilitative and Community Supports (RCS) program. This is a clinical skill building & behavior modification program for children with disabilities using evidence-based practices of Applied Behavioral Analysis to improve social skills, communication, increase independence with daily living skills and to safely regulate behavior. Our BCBA's partner with BHPs to teach and support them in learning the skills to make sure our clients and their families are successful. BHPs will provide one-on-one therapy, assist with parent training, and collect data related to individual behavior plans. This role is based in our clients’ homes and community settings during early morning, afterschool, and evening hours. BHPs may need to use their vehicle to transport clients. This is a part time position with an average of 20 hours a week during the school year and more hours during school breaks and summer vacation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Implements ABA treatment plans, including skill acquisition and behavior reduction, specific to each child’s individualize plan and goals
  • Works one on one with children in a community environment
  • Assists in creating a positive environment including modeling appropriate behavioral interventions, reinforcing positive behaviors and facilitating social interactions between children and families
  • In collaboration with the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, work with children using ABA techniques including Verbal Behavior therapy, behavior modification, individual skill acquisition, early intervention, and other designated treatment approaches
  • Responsible for collecting and recording data on all current targets and treatment goals for the child and their family members
  • Records progress in the treatment notes as required by policy
  • Assists the BCBA with parent training utilizing skill-based interventions that can be implemented in the home environment which will decrease behavior problems, teach specific skills and maximize child outcomes

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must  have full Behavioral Health Professional Certification. 
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred
  • At least one year of experience working with children in a supervised setting. Prefer applicants that have experience working with children with disabilities, behavior disorders, or who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Must be willing to obtain the Registered Behavioral Technician certification. We pay you for taking the training during orientation and offer a $400 stipend once you pass the RBT test and obtain certification.
  • General computer and Microsoft office experience required
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  •  Willingness to work in families’ homes
