APRN will work under the supervision of the Psychiatrist.  All prescriptions for Controlled substances will be written by the Psychiatrist.


  • Conduct Psychiatric Evaluation on patients referred to the program within 14 days of admission.
  • Provide Psychiatric follow up visits and medication management (including nonprescription medication on a monthly (30 days) basis.
  • Documents psychiatric evaluations and follow up visits with Medical Department and Psychiatrist.
  • Provides on call services for after hour, weekend and holiday restraints that may occur.  Meets with the student, accesses and provides documented recommendations within 1 hour of contact.
  • Attends all 30 day treatment team meetings, attends all 90 day treatment team meetings and all emergency treatment team meetings as necessary.
  • Provides assessments and evaluations of students under the direct supervision of the psychiatrist.
  • Provides consultations to Admissions Director when needed.


Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensed specializing in adolescent psychiatry by, and in good standing with, the state of New Jersey.
Board Eligible in Advance Practice Registered Nurse or Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse specializing in adolescent psychiatric nursing.  Basic Life Support.
